Deciding how to package client photographs was a roller
coaster of ideas for myself. First I went through many google and pintrest searches to gather ideas
for where to start, also keeping in mind the want to use mainly recycled
materials. Keeping it minimal and within my color scheme of
neutrals, a Kraft box and wood shavings for the base of my packaging was a no brainier but what to put inside?
Clients receive their photographs on a USB, making it convenient to print and share, each package includes a wood USB containing all edited images. Through several different outlets you can order wood and other styles of USB’s with your specific logo or photographs. For this particular package I went through Nations Photo Lab. It was easy and quick but the quality of craftsmanship was not as I hoped. Still pleased on my result, I may test a few other outlets out before buying in bulk.
I also wanted to include a small set of printed versions to instantly view, which are wrapped in a beautifully embossed material.
Along with a hand written note, I like to gift a token of appreciation as well. I really do considerate it an honor when a couple chooses myself to capture their wedding. Not only am I documenting a big part of their life, I am also getting a peak into who they are as people, which I find to be a very personal and beautiful thing to capture.
While getting to know my couples I like to take note of their interests, preferring to gift them something personal and local. For this package I went by Van Dorn Gourmets in Burbank, CA. They are a family owned business which carries several spices and rubs of their own, as well as many other local companies and treats. I even had to get some goodies for myself, which I can tell you was delicious.
To add some color, aroma and beauty a few pieces of lavender are placed inside. Upon opening the package there is a slight fragrance that gives it more than just a visual appeal. You can find dried lavender online at a good bulk price, but this particular bunch was purchased at the most delightful flower shop. I made a quick stop at The Enchanted Florist where the young woman working was very helpful in my quest.
Overall I am pleased with the outcome of this package and look forward to making more! Tune back in soon for more looks into local business for your wedding and packaging needs.
